In honor of the victims of a deadly Ukrainian International Airlines plane crash in 2020, a vigil was held on Saturday in the country's capital.
Relatives and colleagues of the victims on flight PS752 lit lamps and laid flowers sign in the center of Kyiv to mark the second anniversary of the incident.
The flight crashed shortly after its departure from the international airport in Iran's capital Tehran to Kyiv on Jan. 8, 2020. Among the 176 dead were citizens of Iran, Ukraine, Canada, the UK, Germany, Sweden, and Afghanistan.
Three days later, on Jan. 11, the Iranian military announced that it had shot down a plane flying near one of its facilities, mistaking it for an enemy target.
Representatives of the Ukrainian government, foreign missions, and embassies attended the memorial event.
