Turkey on Tuesday urged Islamic countries to review their ties with Israel and said it would call an extraordinary summit of the world’s main pan-Islamic body after Israel massacred dozens of Palestinians during protests in Gaza on May 14.

Ankara has reacted with fury to the killing of at least 61 Palestinians in Gaza on the same day as the US formally moved its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv in defiance of international outrage.

“Islamic countries should without fail review their relations with Israel,” Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim told his ruling party in parliament..

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is to visit Britain in 13th May, a top official said today, as Ankara sticks to its position of refusing to blame Russia for an attack on an ex-spy.

Relations between London and Ankara have over the last years been relatively robust, without the tensions that have plagued relations between Turkey and other European powers

such as Germany.

But while EU nations have rushed to join Britain in condemning Russia and expelling diplomats over the attack in England on ex-spy Sergei Skripal, Turkey has been much more circumspect.

The president’s decision comes a day after Bahceli called for early presidential and parliamentary elections.

“As result of consultations with Mr. Bahceli, we decided to hold elections on June 24, 2018, a Sunday,” Erdogan said in an address at his presidential palace after meeting Bahceli.
